They will need the local tourism businesses to sell the park. Nothing else will work.
Year two will be a loss. Potential guests may avoid the Annual Pass for this year after at happened last year. Current passholders will not be paying for admission in 2009, so their revenue stream is light. If they are doing a $40 ticket with a few extra carnival rides, the place will not work. The price dropped to $39 for North & South Carolina residents, as someone pointed out. People still stayed away.
I'd expect them to remove the poster of the topless woman covered up by giant lollipops and change the outfits at the Country on Ice show and especially the Malibu Beach Party show. They were way too suggestive. Ever notice the girls spinning on the rings looked like strippers?
For their sake, I hope they can hold on for a year until they can get bigger rides put in for 2010. The issue with bigger rides is that construction companies have been booked up through all of 2009 because of commitment to other parks and primarily the mid-east. Aside from the lack of funds, the original company couldn't get anything big in for 2009. They wanted a water flume and balloon drop, but the end was too near.

Didn't they say the new gate fee would be $35 to $40? They also mentioned trying to give an additional discount for locals. At best case, a discount on $35 at the gate would be great. Also, for $75 they can get a season pass. Hopefully this year more locals will visit.
