Yeah that's not too much better. You're still paying out the rear for two hours of entertainment. It still needs to be lower right now. $30/adults and kids under 5 for free. Anyone under 48 inches tall should be $20. They need to get a clue and fast. They're still not competitive. Buy your tickets onine for Carowinds and you pay $36/person and $22 for kids and seniors. And that's an all day affair!!

OK, I was off by a couple of dollars with the children's price, but I had the adult price. I think it may still be too expensive, but we'll have to wait and see what the locals discount is and any othr reduced ticket they offer. The price of the season pass is still too high. guests only get three months instead of a year or a calendar year depending on the previous park's schedule.

I totally agree with you. We had a park here sell to Six Flags and they raised their prices. People werent going as much as they used to and they did ad a couple rollar coasters to draw more people in, but in the end, the gate price is what kept people away. A few years later, Six Flags sold it and the admission was lowered. It was high at the gate but you are able to get cheaper tickets through grocery stores or through work. They park also had a campsite that hooks to the park, a great benefit. Six Flags raised prices on that too, to include their new overpriced tickets.

Since the name change and the ticket prices being dropped, the park has more people in it. Entrance fees have a big impact on how the park will be with success. People just dont have a whole lot of money to spend these days. I know I am limited when I go down in August. We have amusement parks and water parks here so I wont be doing them down there, but thats only my input.

People wouldn't mind high prices at the gate if the food wasn't so highly priced inside. $8 for a dried out burger and fries is rediculous. Cedar Point allowed Subway to open up on the inside last year. The prices outside of the park were half of what they were charging INSIDE the park. We visit Cedar Point more than 30 times per year and very rarely do we eat there. Maybe an order of cheese fries here and there and that's it. $45/person to get in, then another $35/person to eat and drink for the day. That's insane.

$40 seems a bit high based on reports that there is not enough to do for a whole day. I was one of the unfortunate ones that never got to experience HRP. I think one of the best deals out there is Cedar Fair's Platinum Pass which is good at ALL their parks and includes FREE parking! The cost is $160 and my home park is King's Island, OH, but I will be using it for at least 6 parks including Canada's Wonderland (Toronto) and King's Dominion, VA. I can also visit SoCal in November/December when everything else is closing and get into Knott's Berry Farm for FREE! Busch also is offering a 2 Year Pass to all of their parks including Sea World and Aquatitca for $299. $75.00 seems like a good deal for locals who just want to hang at the park for a couple of hours every week.

I, too, think that $40 is too much, only because I am frugal but I have never been to the park to know firsthand.

It would be cool if they would keep some sort of "first-timers" list and let people in for half price the first time, kind of as an incentive to get people in the gate. I think its sort of silly to charge so much when there is Family Kingdom with no gate charge (albeit not as thrilling as Freestyle).

Phroggy is also right about the food and prices....Cedar Point is outrageous when it comes to the food prices as well as most other parks.

If they actually have things to do compared to last year, which I didn't see, then maybe the $40 will be worth it. But from what I read from people who have been there, its still going to be a high ticket. I have a family of four so it will be a task just to pay for the tickets and the parking. We'll still have to eat and maybe buy something. We'll give it a go this year and see how it pans out. My other concern is that if they want me to go to their park, they still are not telling anyone what they are going to have. I assume many of the rides will simply change names, but what about the shows and new rides? It doesn't seem like anyone has an idea yet.

If you live here why would you pay 40.00 per visit when you can pay 75.00 and go anytime you want?

kirk, because if you want to invite someone to go with you...who doesnt live there it would make a difference...

You cant just think about the locals and the people who can justify a season pass.
