Freestyle announced its new dark ride to replace The Moody Blues Nights in White Satin called "Monstars of Rock".

This dark ride weaves between reality and illusion with an onboard audio track that spill out ghoulish tunes. Masterfully blending sights, sounds, smells and techniques, rides of all ages are immersed in one of the park's coolest (and spookiest) rides.

Crews work on the new front entrance to MONSTARS OF ROCK.

So what are they changing about it? I thought the reason they changed it was because it was too un-kid friendly? How does turning one of the greatest dark rides ever built into another cheesy haunted house ride make it any better? Realistically speaking, werent the teens and adults the only ones that got "the trip" part of it anyway?

Watching the youtube of the Nights in White Satin ride, I was not that impressed. Granted, I didn't have on the 3D glasses and was not actually there to be fully immersed in it, but it just seemed kinda boring.

And, if it is being done by the same people, I don't think it'll end up being some cheesy haunted house. I see it more like a Haunted Mansion (disney world) type place, with even better technical effects. Scary for kids, kinda cool for adults.

Sally Corp, the world's number one supplier of both classic and interactive dark rides, is responsible for producing the 4.5 minute attraction, as well as the creative design and special effects.

Twenty cars linked in pairs can accommodate six passengers in each. The track length will be 720 feet, there are 14 scenes during the ride and it can accommodate about 1,200 riders per hour.

Its really something you have to be there for. A camera can't capture the experience as it was inside, the feel, smell and music just encompass you entirely.

I don't think it'll be cheesy, i've been through several sally attractions and all of them are done very well, but in the end theyre all haunted houses with a "spook factor" as their driving force. NIWS was different, it wasn't scary just very surreal and of course...im a bit biased since i love the song. I'm even more excited about the grand opening now in anticipation of seeing what all changes have been done to this area, whether its open or not.

No. The new show is being designed and produced by ITEC out of Orlando.

Well don't let the marketing fool you. For most of those their scope was limited to ride and/or show control design and programming. They do have a creative department but to be honest, nothing spectacular has come out of it in my opinion. Same with Sally. They did very little on the Nights In White Satin dark ride as far as actual work. They did work with Binkowski and the rest of the HR team as far as creative intent but most of the work was completed by other companies.

so i rode the monsters of rock today and i think it sucked!!!! big time!!! it is a real kid ride....adults and teens will hate it!!! the best park was walking to the loading station because it was a pitch black hallway from start to finish and you cant see athing...but it might of just been because of the lighting..but what ever..moody blues was way way better!!

Is it like the rest of Sally Corps interactive dark rides, or is it a true KIDDIE ride?
