OK, I know I'm going to get flamed for this.......but :35 secs from gate release to full stop and at a top speed of maybe 45 to 50mph?

That's it? That's what all the clamor has been over?

Geez - with the buildup from the posts I have read, I was expecting much more. Take no offense at my post folks - especially those of you that are so passionate about this ride.

But I was honestly expecting something along the lines of a Screaming Eagle or something like that.

For those of you that aren't familiar with The Screaming Eagle, it was up until 1980, the fastest wooden coaster in America. Located in the Six Flags Over Mid-America theme park outside St. Louis, Missouri, The Screaming Eagle hit 65 mph after the first hill and didn't slow down until the last turn pulling into the station. It was also the longest coaster ride at the time with a total run time from station pull out to pull back in of two minutes thirty six seconds.

Just my thoughts....

Greg, I'm going to chime in here. The whole ride experience is actually 1 min 35 seconds. The Ferris wheel is 50 seconds alone. Plus, you're not seeing the rest around the other side of the building which is short run through the car wash. In regards to the Ferris wheel, you have to realize, when you drive into it, the front appears completely open. As you rise up to the top the "open exposure" is always prominent in front of you. When you're at the top and the car starts to move forward, you can't see any track.

Also, ahead of the ride itself is the Karaoke Queue Line where a host will get the line involved in Karaoke tunes frmo the 80's. The on-board sound system is quite good and the first drop packs a nice punch.

The whole ride from beginning to end is an "experience".

Geez son - give it a rest. When you're riding it, it'll feel faster. We all know how much screaming eagle fanatics like yourself want to ride this thing as if it was screaming eagle, but give the negative posts a rest will ya'?

LOL now for a real response...I think the park was daring to opening such a, humm, different concept attraction. One thing I hate about "first kind" rides/attractions is that they tend to be too "safe" in the sense that not much is done to the layout and its generally pretty simple. take B&M's flying coasters. The first ones are pretty lackluster but now you have TATSU and the forthcoming Manta Ray. I do think the ride could have had more of a layout so to speak with a couple of airtime hills thrown in the mix but what can you say now...its constructed, ready to open, and ready to dissapoint more people lol!

I see this as a family coaster, and will take that into consideration as I ride it and its short, leisure course.

Jarvis "i mean hey, it could have been a vekoma clone" Morant! lol

You see this as a family coaster? Not me. I don't even think I will have the courage to ride it.

One thing I should have mentioned in my previous post -

I haven't seen the park yet - I only know what I have seen online in photos, and YouTube videos up to this point. I had no inclination as to the contstruction of MAX RPM, what the ride was like, etc.

I guess I was just under the impression that given such a name and with all the discussion online, that MAXIMUM R.P.M. would be the biggest, meanest, fastest, longest coaster in the park.

So to those that I pissed off with that last post, I apologize. I was only sharing my opinion.

We had a tour of the ride today and they were still doing quite a bit of work on it. The ride still has not been certified yet and I don't think it's been turned over to the ride ops for training either.

BTW, Screamscape reported that DMB had said the ride "opened" which certainly wasn't the case. Might want to let Lance know.
